Who we are
The VolnaLink editorial team writes the articles, guides and research on this site. We deliberately do not sign pieces with invented names or attach academic titles to them: the byline "VolnaLink editorial team" means the service stands behind the text, not some abstract expert.
The easiest way to judge us is not by credentials but by how the material is written: do we cite sources, do we admit limits, do we avoid promising things the product does not do.
What we write about
- How a VPN works and what it is made of: protocols, encryption, routing.
- Why a connection fails and what to do about it — walkthroughs of common faults.
- How mobile and fixed networks behave, including Russian operator networks.
- Connection security: what a VPN protects and what it does not.
- Platform guides — Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS, TVs, browsers, routers.
- Our own availability measurements, once there is data behind them.
How a piece is made
The same order applies to a three-paragraph note and to a long analysis.
- We define the question the piece must answer and check whether an article with the same intent already exists — we do not produce duplicates.
- We gather the facts: primary sources on the technology, platform documentation, our own observations and support requests.
- We put the answer in the opening paragraphs, not at the end. The reader should get the point before deciding to read on.
- We separately verify every claim about the product: anything written about VolnaLink must match what the app actually does.
- Before publishing we check the piece against our editorial standards.
What you will not find here
- Invented tests, ratings or percentages — neither ours nor anyone else's.
- Claims that a particular service "does not work" when we have not tested it.
- Promises of anonymity or virus protection: a VPN does neither, and we say so plainly.
- Biographies of experts who do not exist.
